| Expertise: Theoretical
Physicist working in the field of nonlinear waves and solitons,
nonlinear optics, dynamical systems and chaos, and condensed matter
physics. Expertise in the generalized nonlinear Schroedinger equation,
the complex Ginzburg-Landau eqatuation, and the nonlinear coupled mode
equations. Able to carry out analytical study and extended numerical
simulations. Current research interest includes: (i) Theoretical and
numerical studies of nonlinear waves and soliton dynamics (ii)
Nonlinear optics of fibers and fiber gratings. (iii) Supercontinuum
generation in optical fibers. (iv) Self-organization in dissipative
systems. (v) Chaotic behavior in dynamical systems.
Qualifications:
1993 - Ph.D. in Physics. Tashkent State University, Uzbekistan.
("Nonlinear Dynamics of Liquid Crystals under the Action of External
Fields") 1985 - M. Sc. in Thermophysics.
